...In charge of musical direction was Stefan Lano (Boston, 1952), whose highly intense reading of the score was resplendent with strength, energy and subtle nuances which ran the gamut from the pristine to the violent respecting with devotion the indications of the composer. The musicians of the Orchestra of the Teatro de Bellas Artes demonstrated to a high degree that they could joyfully negotiate the difficulties of the score: decisively momentous, passionate and devout. We have rarely experienced this orchestra perform with the expressive power as elicited by Stefan Lano.
